Welcome to a new series where we have a chat with our founders to hear about quarterly highlights and where we're headed. This past season has been all about making moods with new scent drops and staying focused on reducing our impact at the same scale as our growth. Read on for more from Eva and David about what keeps their flame lit.

What were your favorite moments from the last few months?

Eva: We gave our limited edition releases a lot of love this season. From the Vacation Vibes collection that transported you to a tropical escape state of mind (just when winter was starting to feel long) to our Artist Series Planet Party duo celebrating the outdoors and a return to time spent in nature this spring — we had so much fun thinking about the moods and feelings we wanted to help customers create at home.

David: I’d have to say planting almost 700 trees over Earth Weekend was a highlight. Especially being able to plant them in urban areas by partnering with One Tree Planted. Another highlight would have been partnering with Bluebird to have a third party verify our impact by product. Their data showed that our candles create 76% less waste and 34% fewer carbon emissions than traditional candles. This keeps us really motivated.

Any exciting plans for Siblings in the near future?

Eva: We've been heads down focused on product development. Of course we have some exciting scents and Forever Vessels coming out this fall / holiday. But also totally new fragrance form factors as well. Our first proper new product line outside of candles is finally coming to fruition and we can't wait to share it with customers later this year.

David: Our bag manufacturer is just as passionate about doing their part to care for the environment as we are. They take steps to measure and offset all carbon produced during the manufacturing of our compostable bags. And through a unique impact program designed to tackle critical environmental issues — for each bag produced, they fund collection projects to save plastic waste from reaching our oceans. This fall we're looking at saving almost 5,000 plastic bottles from the ocean with the help of our amazing customers.
