The candle industry has some dirty, not so little, secrets.

  • Luxury or not, most candles have a dark side.

    Paraffin wax = hidden toxins—a petroleum byproduct that releases benzene, toluene, and ultrafine particles—linked to cancer, asthma, and indoor air pollution. Found in most candles, even luxury ones.


    “Soy blend” doesn’t mean clean—many brands add just enough soy to market it as “clean”—but it’s still mostly paraffin.


    Cheap fragrance oils cause headaches—most mass-market candles contain phthalates, petroleum-based musks, and solvents that linger well after the flame is out.

  • The waste adds up.

    35 million candle jars are thrown away every year—only 8% are actually recycled. The rest pile up in landfill.

    Paraffin is petroleum waste—it's not biodegradable. Meaning it breaks down slowly and releases harmful chemicals long after that half-burned candle is tossed.

We work with two of the world’s top fragrance houses to create serene, elevated scents made of premium ingredients—always free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates and other harsh chemicals.

They’re poured in a family-run U.S. factory, packaged in 100% compostable bags, and shipped plastic-free. The chef's kiss: we’ve offset our carbon emissions in full since 2019, our founding year.
