I became a candle person in Sweden. Then my brother and I made the candle I couldn’t find.
Living in Sweden changed the way I thought about light.
A candle wasn’t just something decorative. It softened a dark afternoon. Slowed down dinner. Made an ordinary room feel warmer and more alive.
I loved the ritual. I didn’t love that every new scent came with another container to eventually throw away or that finding a candle that felt better to burn often meant compromising on fragrance.
So in 2019, my brother David and I started Siblings: beautifully scented candles made with cleaner ingredients, in a vessel you can refill season after season.
Swedish winters are long and dark, and she was burning candles just to get through them. By spring she had a drawer full of beautiful empty jars she couldn't bring herself to throw out. That drawer is why Siblings exists.

We didn’t think the answer was to make candles less beautiful.

And we didn’t want sustainability to become a compromise. The candle still had to smell exceptional, burn beautifully and completely change the feeling of a room when you lit it.

The Forever Vessel sits at the heart of the Siblings system.
Designed in Sweden and handcrafted in Portugal from clay containing 95% recycled materials, it is a substantial piece of stoneware made to live in your home for years.
When you are ready for a new candle, you do not need a new container.
Your refill arrives as scented coconut-soy wax inside a compostable pouch, with the wick and supplies included. Melt the wax in the pouch, pour it into your vessel and let it set.
Then light it, live with it and refill it again.

Our fragrances are developed to feel more like fine fragrance than traditional candle scent: layered, evocative and tied to a place, memory or feeling. They are made with clean fragrance and essential oils, without paraffin, phthalates, parabens or sulfates.

Common Questions
Is making the candle difficult?
Not at all. Remove the supplies, melt the wax inside its pouch, center the wick and pour. Let the candle set before lighting. No special equipment and no candle-making experience required.
What happens if the scent isn’t right for me?
Scent is personal. Your first Siblings candle is protected by our Happiness Guarantee. If it is not right for your home, we will help you exchange it for another scent or issue a refund.
Am I locked into the subscription?
Never.
You can swap your scents, skip a delivery, pause, gift an order or cancel whenever you need to. Manage it directly through your account, without having to email us or jump through hoops.

The siblings behind Siblings
We learned “fewer, better things” before we had words for it.
David and I grew up with two other siblings on a horse farm outside Buffalo, New York.
We spent our summers near Lake Erie, our winters skiing and most of our childhood outside. Our parents composted, repaired, reused and passed things down. Nobody called it sustainable living. It was simply how our home worked.
Years later, living in Stockholm deepened those instincts. Sweden taught me to pay closer attention to the changing light, to spend time outside in every season and to choose things for the home with care.
Practical things could still be beautiful. Cozy didn’t have to mean excessive. The things you loved could be made to stay.
Siblings grew out of those two worlds: an outdoorsy childhood, a life shaped by Sweden and a shared belief that small everyday rituals can have a meaningful impact.
