Yes, it really is easy. Each refill is designed to become a candle with very little effort. There are no special tools, no complicated setup — just a few quiet minutes and a candle made by you.

How it works:
Open the candle bag and remove the wick, wick holder, and instruction card. Place the bag of wax on a microwave-safe dish and heat for 2 minutes, or until fully melted.

While the wax melts, center the wick in your chosen vessel. We recommend a heat-safe, stable, non-porous vessel about 3 inches in diameter — or simply use one of our Forever Vessels.

Pour in the melted wax, adjust the wick so it’s centered, and let the candle set for at least 2 hours. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch, light, and enjoy.

When you’re done, compost the empty bag at home or through industrial composting.

With a refill, you get to choose the vessel — something that fits your space, your style, and the way you actually live. A piece you found thrifting, a handmade ceramic, or a beloved candle jar you’re not ready to part with. Our refills are made to give those vessels a second life.

And because we use clean, all-natural coconut-soy wax, each candle burns beautifully without leaving sooty residue behind.

Use a heat-safe, stable, non-porous vessel about 3 inches in diameter. An old candle jar, favorite ceramic cup, or thrifted find can all work beautifully, as long as they’re made to handle heat.

Not sure if your vessel is heat-safe? Carefully pour boiling water into it first. If it doesn’t crack, leak, or show signs of damage, it’s a good candidate for a candle.
